Ubisoft and the U.S. Army announced today that they have entered into a long-term agreement to develop and publish games based on the U.S. Army's America's Army game franchise. This agreement marks the first time that the U.S. Army has ever exclusively licensed its brand to a game publisher and will expand the reach of the game franchise to the console game market. From the sounds of the release, Ubisoft plans to take an active role in developing the console games, with the America's Army team overseeing the integrity of realism, character progression, and gameplay motivated by Army values. The games will make their way to retail in summer 2005. The U.S. Army will contninue to develop and distribute the PC versions of their games.
