Bethesda Softworks will publish IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005 (IHRA 2005) for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC this fall. IHRA 2005 takes the popular pro drag racing simulation game series in a new direction, offering a new racing engine (powered by NDL's Gamebryo game engine technology) and gameplay that has been completely redesigned from the ground up to better simulate racing a 6,000-horsepower dragster. Officially licensed by the IHRA (International Hot Rod Association), IHRA 2005 features over 24 professional drivers and all 11 IHRA-sanctioned tracks from the 2004 Hooters Racing Circuit season.

IHRA 2005 also promises broadcast style race presentation with TV-style camera fly-bys and color commentary, arcade style play for beginners via Arcade mode, simulation mode featuring a 12-event National IHRA Professional Drag Racing Championship, 50 fully customizable real-world vehicles to choose from, weather and atmosphere dynamics that affect gameplay, day and night cycles, and an all new off-track options like the parts shop, garage, and trophy room. IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005 is scheduled for release in Q4 2004.
