NOTE: The bottom of this page contains a great spoiler. Be very cautious when browsing. Thank you.

Dawn Star
You will automatically gain Dawn Star as your first partner-in-crime along your journey at the beginning of the first chapter. Dawn Star is your childhood friend that just so happens to see apparitions, and she is able to have conversations with these ghosts. Due to this, Dawn Star can damage spirits and otherworldly ghouls, making her an excellent comrade to have early on in the game. She uses the Long Sword, and she will recover your Chi as a support ability.

Sagacious Zu
Sagacious Zu (Zu to friends) can be found in the Bandit Swamp. He will assist you to find a friend. Sagacious Zu is very noble, indeed, and quite selfless when put to the test. You will find that he makes quite an excellent sidekick, as his attacks are very rough and wrangled compared to most other Followers. Use Sagacious Zu when you are in dire need of some brutish muscle. His support ability will allow you to deal additional damage when using Weapon styles.

Henpecked Hou
Henpecked Hou is a very simple man that is tough in spirit but a little... hmm... weak on the exterior. Due to this, Hou will join your Followers list on the condition that you save him at the Pilgrim's Rest Inn, and that you keep him out of trouble during battles. In case you're curious, Henpecked Hou helps out by tossing you wine bottles to get drunk on, and furthermore allows you to use the Drunken Master fighting style exclusively! This style is very unique, and comes in handy during many-a boss fight.

The Black Whirlwind
The Black Whirlwind is an extraordinary fighter; he is a one of a kind drunken madman that uses his dual axes to slice and dice through any enemy that is weak to Martial attacks. The Black Whirlwind is self-taught; meaning no one else in the Empire uses his fighting style. He is an excellent fighter, and runs laps around everyone else in your party at the time that you pick him up in your Followers list, so take him with you in those heavily enemy-clad dungeons.

Zin Bu the Magic Abacus
Zin Bu will automatically join your list of Followers at the Forest Shadow Temple in Chapter 2. Unlike any party member/follower thus far, Zin Bu the Magic Abacus never actually enters any battle whatsoever. He will, however, be your one-stop shop whenever you need him to appear. Just select him in the Followers list to enter his store.

Wild Flower/Chai Ka and Wild Flower/Ya Zhen
One of the most interesting and intriguing characters in the game is Wild Flower/Chai Ka. While they cannot both exist at the same time, Wild Flower (a little girl) will recover your health points when she can, and will morph into Chai Ka, an ancient demon from Heaven that is also known as "the Guardian." Chai Ka is a gigantic demon, so of course his attacks will be extremely powerful. His attacks work wonders against the undead, as well. As for Ya Zhen, he is an evil version of the big guy Chai Ka, only in a Toad-ish form. If you're feeling rather evil, allow him to follow you instead of the Chai Ka form.

Sky
Sky can be found on the pirate leg of Chapter 2, no pun-intended with the pirate leg part. Sky seems to have a very devious plan in store for Gao the Greater, and wishes to have you tag along in his quest for revenge. Sky is another excellent warrior to add to the arsenal of already skilled fighters. We guess it all depends on the type of blades that you prefer.

Kang the Mad
Kang the Mad comes off as a mad scientist, of course. He is Gao the Greater's right-hand scientist, and boy does he despise the job. Gao the Greater constantly bullies the poor genius around until he gets his way, and toys with Kang's creations to the point that he can no longer take it. Kang wants you to rough Gao the Greater up, of course. Then again, so does everyone. Kang isn't a skilled fighter at all, but his explosives and the Dragonfly (airship) come in handy quite a bit.

Silk Fox
Silk Fox is one skilled fighter and a half. She uses such grace with her fighting technique that she seems to work her way around her opponent and stab them where it hurts. She will easily break their blocking, as well. Although you see Silk Fox in Chapter 2, she will not enter your party until you have proven yourself trustworthy. She takes some time to butter up to, but she's an excellent companion once you have her on board.

Abbot Song
You will find Abbot Song during the 5th Chapter of the game, and he will certainly be a welcomed addition to any party setup that you'd like to have. Abbot Song will defend you with a wonderful polearm that is dual-sided with blades. This makes him extremely deadly during battle as the ultimate in polearm combat. His attacks are moderate in speed, but man, does he pack a punch. While his strength is not outstanding, he is a well-rounded fighter, nonetheless. He replaces Zu on the list of strongest polearm fighters.

Death's Hand
After defeating Death's Hand in battle during Chapter 6, you can choose to free his soul (Open Palm) or use him as a slave (Closed Fist). If you choose the latter, you will receive the best Follower in the game, as Death's Hand is the strongest, fastest, and most efficient Follower of them all. It all depends on your alignment, as you will gain many Closed Fist points for enslaving him.

On to Fighting Styles...
