Even though it's still the offseason, it's not too early to start thinking about EA's upcoming NBA Live 2005, the latest iteration of the hugely popular basketball franchise. There have been quite a few new additions this year to the 5-on-5 game, including a new rebounding system that makes it easier for you to tip the ball back into the hoop, or grab it and slam it down with authority. There are also some new in-air collisions that realistically reflect the bangin' that goes on underneath the hoop. As any journeyman knows, taking it to the hoop can lead to take one on the chin from an opponent's elbow. For a quick look at the new gameplay additions, head over to FilePlanet to check out the latest 5-on-5 videos from NBA Live 2005.

In addition to the 5-on-5 play additions, a brand new All-Star Weekend has been added to the game. Featuring the 3-Point Shootout, the Rookie Challenge, and the much-beloved Slam Dunk Contest, the All-Star Weekend events bring some flashy showmanship to an already fundamentally sound game. The Slam Dunk Contest is one of the most exciting sporting exhibitions around, and you can finally create your own show-stopping dunks with an innovative control system. Nothing is out-of-bounds, as you can toss the ball off the scoreboard, shot clock, or nearly any other surface in the arena before gathering it up for the monster dunk. We've got some great new footage of the master dunkers in action, so be sure to go get the video of the All-Star Weekend events now!
