Introduction

Well hello, I didn't see you come in. Take a seat. You're just in time. As you know, the introduction of a guide is an opportunity for me to ramble mindlessly about how great this game you're reading about is and all the games that came before it. And since I'm a senior citizen, you feel obligated to listen (you'd better!). I also like introductions because I can pretend I'm a senior citizen.

So anyway, let's get down to the rambling. Remember Red Faction? Of course you do. Don't you recall blasting holes in the floor, using the rail driver through walls, and mercilessly setting scientists aflame? Come to think of it, it was a pretty darn fun game.

So anyway, as you have hopefully deducted by now, Red Faction spawned a sequel. Yes, it's true! If you liked the storyline, gameplay, setting, and atmosphere of the first Red Faction, well... too bad, because this game is nothing like it.

Yes, it's a first-person shooter, but the game focuses on intense, constant action. You won't have much time to relax and take in the sights, because there will be guards with grenade launchers in front of you, a helicopter firing through the windows, snipers across the street, and guards blasting an entrance through the ceiling all coming at you all within a blink of an eye.

It's frantic, it's fun, and it can be hard. In some areas you might not be able to figure out how to find the exit. In others you may not be able to deduce how to get through all the enemy fire.
